Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of The Answer Key, operated by IE Ashot Sargsyan, registered in the Republic of Armenia. By creating an account you accept them. How we handle your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

1. The service

The Answer Key provides online preparation material for the digital SAT examination: written lessons, practice questions, timed practice tests, a diagnostic test, and automated progress analysis. It is delivered entirely online.

We are an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the College Board, which administers the SAT, nor with Desmos. "SAT" is a trademark of the College Board, which does not endorse this site.

2. Accounts

• You must give a real email address you control. We send a short code to that address to confirm it.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
• An account is for one person. Sharing login details is not permitted.
• The free trial is one per person. Opening extra accounts to get more free time is not permitted.
• You must be at least 13 years old to register. If you are under 18, you may use the service only with the knowledge and permission of a parent or guardian, who should read these terms with you. A parent or guardian who pays for a plan accepts these terms on the student's behalf.

3. The free diagnostic without an account

Anyone can take the free diagnostic test without an account. We keep the test for 7 days, linked to your browser. Your score is shown once you create an account or log in on the same browser; the test then moves into your account. If you don't, it is deleted after 7 days. See the Privacy Policy for details.

The free diagnostic is meant to be taken once, and only a small number can be started from the same network each day. Like the rest of the site, it is for your own preparation: it may not be used to collect our questions. Its score is an estimate (see section 6).

4. Payment

• Plans are a single payment for a fixed period. Nothing renews automatically and there is no subscription to cancel.
• Prices are shown in Armenian drams (AMD) to visitors in Armenia and in US dollars (USD) elsewhere. Payments made from Armenia are always processed in AMD.
• We do not add any fee for paying by card. The price is the same regardless of payment method.
• Card details are entered on the secure payment page of our bank, Ameriabank, and never reach our website. We do not see or store your card number.
• Access begins as soon as payment is approved.
• Buying additional time extends your remaining access rather than replacing it.

5. Refunds

Set out in full in our Returns & Refunds Policy. In summary: a 7-day free trial before you pay, a 14-day refund window if the service has barely been used, and a full refund whenever a fault on our side prevented use. Refunds on card payments are returned to the same card by bank transfer; we do not give cash refunds for card payments.

6. What we do not promise

Our scores are estimates. The projected score on your dashboard and the scores from our practice tests and diagnostic are worked out by our own model from your answers on this site. They are a guide to your progress, not official College Board scores, and your real SAT score may be different. SAT is a trademark of the College Board, which is not affiliated with and does not endorse this site.

7. Invite a friend

Every student has a personal invite link on their account page.

• A friend who signs up with your link gets extra days of access straight away (currently 7).
• You get days too (currently 7) once your friend has really used the site — currently, answering at least 10 questions in practice sets or tests.
• There is a limit on how many friends you can be rewarded for (currently 10). The current numbers are shown on your account page.
• If an account is created from the same network as yours, you do not get a reward for it (your friend still keeps their days). This is how we stop people inviting themselves.
• Invites are for real friends. We may withhold or remove rewards obtained through fake or duplicate accounts, inviting yourself, scripted or automated answers, or any other abuse of the program.
• Reward days are extra access to the service only. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged or transferred.

We may change or end the invite program at any time. Rewards you have already received are kept, unless they were obtained through abuse.

8. Points, leaderboard and weekly prizes

Students earn points for practising. Points are worked out by our server from your own answers, under rules shown on the site. The weekly leaderboard starts again every Monday (Armenian time).

• Points have no cash value. They cannot be bought, sold, exchanged, transferred or paid out. We may correct or recalculate points if they were counted wrongly.
• The leaderboard is visible to logged-in students and shows your first name and last initial with your points. You can hide yourself in Settings at any time.
• When a week ends, its top three students win free days of access, which are added to their accounts automatically. The winners' first names and last initials are shown publicly as "Last week's winners". The current prizes are shown on the leaderboard page.
• A prize needs a minimum number of points that week (currently 100).
• If two students have the same points, the one who reached that total first ranks higher.
• Students who have hidden themselves from the leaderboard are not ranked for prizes.
• We may remove an account from the leaderboard, and refuse or take back points or prizes, for cheating, using scripts or automation, or using several or fake accounts.
• Prizes are free access days only. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged or transferred.

We may change the prizes, the points rules or the leaderboard, or stop the weekly prizes, at any time. Prizes you have already received are kept, unless they were obtained through abuse.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Copy, redistribute or resell our lessons or questions
• Scrape or copy the question bank, or use automated tools to extract content in bulk — including by starting free diagnostics or practice sets over and over to collect questions
• Use scripts, bots or other automated tools to answer questions, earn points or take tests
• Share your account with others
• Create more than one account to get extra free trials, invite rewards or prizes
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or other users' data
• Overload the site, or send false or abusive problem reports

We may suspend an account that breaches these terms. Where the breach is not deliberate we will contact you first.

10. Problem reports and other things you send us

Every question has a "Report a problem" button. Reports help us find mistakes, and we read them all. We decide whether and how to change a question; a report does not by itself earn points, prizes or a refund. If you were logged in when you reported, we may email you to say what we found.

When you report a problem with a question, or send us suggestions or other feedback, you allow us to use it to fix and improve the site, without payment to you. Please don't include personal information in a report that we don't need.

11. Intellectual property

All lessons, practice questions, explanations and design on this site belong to IE Ashot Sargsyan. Buying access grants you a personal right to use the material for your own study; it does not transfer ownership.

12. Availability

We aim to keep the service available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Where an extended outage is our fault, see the Service Delivery Terms.

13. Liability

Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for your current access period. We are not liable for examination outcomes, university admission decisions, or indirect losses.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Armenia, and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the Armenian courts.
